Loyola's Boy Toy

I came across this creepy sculpture of Ignatius
Loyola, Spanish founder of the Jesuits-the Catholic
Church's Rent-a-Cops who police the spiritual
development of people around the world.  Note how
the poor cherubic boy has to bear the burden of Loyola's
weighty tome, pages which the ravages of time have
successfully erased. I risked getting kicked out of the
Museo de Bellas Artes in Valencia to take this shot-
fortunately none of the guards saw me and I then got
to see the  wonderful El Greco exhibit there-full
of life and exuberance, a nice counterpoint to the
somber gravity of the curious piece here, tucked in a
remote corner of the museum.
